Richardson Texas Transit Authority by James Joyce

(Does the fact that I am 12% into rereading my Ulysses explain this? I’m feeling all Dublin. Joyce, why could you not have just cut off an ear, I say to myself. And you, Vonnegut, don’t look so innocent. No, it is pressed for time.)

Residents of Eastside, a Richardson, Texas, transit-oriented development, or development oriented transit, according to one 100% unofficial research poll, predominently use cars to get to and from work, and most places traveled.

Texas is beautiful.

Texas is hot.

Texas is sprawl. (No negative connotation meant by that).

DART is broke, not counting the yoke (one billion dollar plus or minus accounting budget snafu, heads didn’t roll thanks largely to a top city manager defensive lineman and shadow mayor QB(s), thank you Loyalty, aka cajones out of the fire, this summer DART and its nonrolled head(s) and unscorched, receives an award, including proclamation of congratulations from the Official City of Richardson, but have to come up with $60M+ in cuts, reduce service in response. PGBT transit oriented development, or development oriented transit. Loyalty will come a calling.

Texas transportation is a function of revenue sources (and who gets a finger in the pie) instead of a function of transportation.

Smart growth is nothing more than top-down micromanagement to redesign people around progressive ideals - rather than designing ideals around what the people want.

Discuss amongst yourself, one. What did you decide?

Oh, you can't ask any questions. Shucks.

Thinking is too hard.

Rail project is an investment that creates real high density development possibilities.

Expanding public transit--buses or trains--is the least effective option for reducing traffic congestion and air pollution.

Avoid natural gas line explosions.

Prevent forest fires.

Throw virgins into volcanoes.

Don’t use that can of AquaNet you found in your aunt’s attic.

Ask your boss about an alternative work schedule. Alternative work schedules can reduce peak-period commute travel, help accommodate ridesharing and transit use. These include flextime, Compressed Work Week (CWW), and staggered shifts.

Act like you can’t concentrate for long periods of time even if you can. Embrace the reasons why the 9 to 5 Office Worker Will Become a Thing of the Past.

Stop reading so many blogs.

Share a school building with the church Breckinridge style. (An added bonus is the Texas State Board Of Education will love ya for it too, in all the confusion. Remember, in the year 2033 we will know Phil Collins defended the Alamo).

The History of Richardson will be sure to doubly include and exclude, what doesn't belong.

You grab the ankles and I’ll get the wrists.

Leaving, on a jet plane.

Something prophetic.

Cycles.

The more things change, the more they remain the same.

The Interurban is gone.
